A Delicious Hmong Egg Roll Recipe

Hmong Egg Roll Recipe

To make Hmong egg rolls, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 head of cabbage, shredded
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 package of egg roll wrappers


  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until it is fully cooked.
  2. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and shredded cabbage to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the cabbage, is wilted and the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the salt, pepper, and soy sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the flavors are well combined.
  4. Remove the skillet from the heat and allow the filling to cool.
  5. Lay out an egg roll wrapper with a corner facing you, and spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the filling onto the wrapper. Roll the wrapper tightly around the filling, tucking in the sides as you go.
  6. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  7. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Carefully place the egg rolls in the hot oil and fry for 3-5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the egg rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
