Dit Da Jow Recipe
- 2 cups of strong, black tea
- 1 cup of herbal vinegar (such as white vinegar infused with chrysanthemum flowers, ginger, and other herbs)
- 1/2 cup of dried, ground herbs (such as dragon’s blood, goji berries, and dandelion root)
- 1/4 cup of grain alcohol (such as vodka or whiskey)
- Bring the black tea to a boil in a saucepan and then remove it from the heat. Allow it to cool until it is at room temperature.
- In a large glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the cooled black tea, herbal vinegar, ground herbs, and grain alcohol. Mix everything together well.
- Place the lid on the jar and store it in a cool, dark place for at least two weeks to allow the ingredients to infuse and the Dit Da Jow to mature.
- After two weeks, strain the Dit Da Jow through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any bits of herbs or sediment. Discard the solids and transfer the liquid to a clean glass jar or bottle.
